In the fictional Star Trek universe, The Traveler is a highly advanced humanoid from Tau Alpha C. The Traveler is exceptionally skilled mentally and is able to make a bridge between space and time thought which he and presumably those of his kind travel throughout the galaxy.
The use of this power takes a large toll on The Traveler though and weakens him considerably as seen in the episode "Where No One Has Gone Before". In this episode The Traveler is able to take the Enterprise to Galaxy M-33 and ultimately to the edges of the known universe. In this episode, The Traveler is also shown to be capable of sensing this capacity in others as he did with Wesley Crusher.[1]
