Copyright
Under the fair use doctrine, it is not an infringement to use the copyrighted works of another in some circumstances, such as for commentary, criticism, news reporting, or educational use.
Fair use is codified at Section 107 of the Copyright Act, which gives a non-exclusive set of four factors courts will consider in deciding whether a use is fair or not. These factors are
1. the purpose and character of the use, 2. the nature of the copyrighted work, 3. the amount and substantiality of the portion used, and 4. the effect of the use on the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.[1]
DharmaFlix.com does not itself contain or house or store or in any way hold any of the videos that may be accessed by links on its site. Even though a video seems like it is contained on its review page, it is not, but rather a small frame or window on the page is opened which links to the video hosting site such as YouTube or Google Video. The logo of the video hosting site is prominently displayed on its video content. Please direct any copyright infringement questions to the video hoster.
Also all content on this site is strictly for commentary, criticism, news reporting, and educational use and we believe therefore constitutes "fair use". As a film review site, by publicizing the work, it also enhances the potential market for and the value of the work linked to. Nevertheless, if you own the copyright to a work linked to on this site and wish the link to be removed from this site, please email bruce@dharmaflix.com and we will do so. Thank you.
